On Monday, an army spokesman in the Ghazni province said that Eight Taliban militants have been killed and seven others injured as clashes erupted in Andar district of the eastern Ghazni province Sunday night

The army official also said that the clashes erupted when the security forces launched operations in parts of Andar district to wipe out insurgents.

According to the Official, two more armed insurgents were captured in those operations.

Although Taliban militants have not commented on those operations and losses yet, the official said that the assaults would continue until peace and stability return to Andar and adjoining areas.

However, the Taliban control more territory than at any point since 2001. Taliban also took a provincial capital, Kunduz, and are threatening another, Lashkar Gah in Helmand.
