Reconciliation is fine but they shouldn’t be allowed to keep their weapons.

    • Bill Wilson

      Why not?

      • TiredOfBsToo

because deconfliction zones have had attacks restart indicating that militants are just buying time for later attacks.

    • Mario Ceva

Of course without weapons and under vigilance

    • VGA

They are now fighting for the government.

      • TiredOfBsToo

Says who? The article doesn’t state they’re fighting for the government. It states merely that they surrendered.

        • VGA

Usually those who keep their weapons are because they join the NDF.

      • Gregory Louis

Are they going to join the QSF? That’s the only ex FSA member unit I know of

  • Jens Holm

    Fine with some de-escaltion.

I once had a very fine pistol, a gift from my wife, but one day while firing it, it broke down, I sent it away, it was fixed and returned, I promptly sold it.
My wife finding out got extremely angry for my selling a gift from her,: My explanation went along this line.
While I really appreciated the gift and had really liked the original, a gun was like a wife, you had to have one you could depend upon without pause or hesitation. ; an untrustworthy gun can get you killed. And an untrustworthy wife will destroy ones life.
So I will get rid of any untrustworthy weapon, friends and yes a wife.
To those who take back an untrustworthy friend or wife. There will always remain in the background the doubt of sincerity by them
These who have surrendered should be treated within their new surroundings as vipers, for the nature of the snakes they were remains within them yet.You can never fully trust one of them to not strike out once more.
LET them return to their handlers nest.
